This tour will take you through the most prominent national parks to experience gorillas, primates, wildlife, birds, and cultures, with memorable scenic drives.

Tour Plan

Day1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park / Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park. En-route, we will stop for a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you can see the white rhinos as they are being re-introduced into the wild. In the afternoon after lunch, you will continue with the drive to your lodge. After check-in, you can go for an evening game drive in search of some game. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive & boat cruise

In the morning after breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive through the Borassus Forest and open savannah. Search for elephants, giraffes, buffalos, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and different species of antelopes. The numerous bird species include the Abyssinian ground hornbill, red bishop, palm nut vulture, and African fish eagle to mention a few.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for a boat cruise along the world’s longest river. On the River Nile, you will encounter breathtaking scenery and different wildlife including hippos and Nile crocodiles. Also on the banks, will be elephants and buffalos as they come down to drink water from the river. After the boat cruise, you will hike to the top of the falls from where the park derives its name. Watch the waters of the Nile as they squeeze in a 7-meter gorge. The view is just amazing. Afterward, you will drive back to your lodge.

Day 3: Drive to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will exit the park and head to the primate capital of East Africa, Kibale National Park. The drive will take you to different sights and beautiful landscapes. You will arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon, and after checking in, you will have a relaxed evening.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp walk

After breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing about the different flora and fauna in this park. Afterward, your guide/ranger will lead you as you proceed into the forest. Along the trek, expect to find different types of primates including the blue-cheeked mangabey, red monkey, white-nosed monkey, and black and white colobus monkey to mention but a few.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will head to the Bigodi Swamp for a walk. This will give you a chance to encounter 8 different primate species and almost 200 bird species, including the beautiful, great blue turaco.

Day 5: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park & evening game drive

After breakfast, you will drive to one of Uganda’s famous parks. The drive will take you through the beautiful scenery of the crater lakes region. You will have a stopover at the equator for photographs. In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for an evening game drive before relaxing at your lodge for dinner.

Day 6: Game drive & boat cruise

After an early breakfast, you will go for a long game drive in search of wildlife including elephants, buffalos, lions, waterbuck, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and numerous birdlife. You will then return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. During the cruise, you will meet numerous wildlife along the banks of the canal including hippos, elephants, and a variety of bird species. After the boat cruise, you will head back to your lodge with game viewing along the way.

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi / Ishasha tree-climbing lions

After breakfast, you will drive toward the southern part of the park, heading to the Ishasha sector. Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions. After lunch, you will go on a drive heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge in the evening and relax.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking & community walk

In the morning after breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the park and about the gorilla tracking activity. You will then embark on the most memorable journey of your life. The time for trekking can be as little as 2 hours or as long as 7 hours. Once you locate a gorilla family, you will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour to observe them.

In the afternoon after lunch, you can go for a community walk as you discover the different styles of living in the nearby community.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park & afternoon boat cruise

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. This is Uganda’s smallest park but with various wildlife including zebras, buffalos, giraffes, and different types of birds.

After lunch in the afternoon, you will head out for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo from where the park derives its name. You will encounter numerous wildlife and birdlife. After the boat cruise, you will have a game drive as you head back to your lodge.

Day 10: Morning game drive/nature walk and transfer to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will go on a walking safari around the park. Lake Mburo is one of the parks in Uganda where it is safe to have a walking safari in the wild. You will have another game drive as you head back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will head to Kampala or Entebbe Airport. You will have a stopover at the Uganda equator for souvenir shopping and photo moments as you say goodbye to Uganda.
